When can I access my storage unit or visit the office?

What holidays are the facilities closed?
We close at 2:00 pm on New Year’s Eve, closed New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve & Day.
What types of leases are offered?
Leases are month to month. Keep your unit for however long you need.
Should I have storage insurance?
Yes! It is highly recommended, but not required. Contact your insurance company to ask about adding storage coverage. We require proof of insurance on any vehicle, boat, trailer, etc stored at our facilities.
Is there a resident manager at each facility?
Alpha Storage Valparaiso has a skilled resident manager to assist with storage need or question, and ensure extra security. All facilities have friendly, knowledgeable day staff to assist with your storage needs.
Do you offer temperature controlled storage units?
We’re proud to provide high quality temperature controlled storage units in Valparaiso, IN (Michigan City's are planned for 2023). These areas are enclosed, heated, and cooled to protect your belongings from extreme temperature swings and other outdoor elements that could be potentially harmful to your items. Indoor Car, Boat and RV storage areas are heated to provide better storage for your extra cars and toys.
How do I pay my storage bill?
Tenants can pay their storage bill online with a debit or credit card. Sign up for auto-pay to never miss a payment. You may mail a check or money order, call-in a payment, or stop by your facility location to pay in person. We accept cash, check, money orders, MasterCard and Visa.
Am I able to purchase boxes and supplies?
Of course. When you need boxes, tape, bubble wrap, or covers, we have them and many other moving supplies in our Valparaiso, IN office.
What types of vehicle storage is offered?
Alpha Storage has plenty of space to store your RV, boat, car, truck, motorcycle or any other vehicle you need stored. If your neighborhood has rules against parking vehicles outside your garage, we’re your best option. We offer indoor HEATED and outdoor secure, fenced parking spaces.
Are the facilities secure?
We take pride in maintaining safe and secure facilities. Each storage unit is locked with a secure lock, which we have for sale in the office. In addition to the electronic gate (at the Valparaiso location), a manual gate is in Michigan City plus 24 hour video surveillance. Alpha Storage is the most secure and safe storage solution around. Enter our facilities and feel confident that your belongings are being monitored all day.
How do I make a reservation?
You can place a temporary "hold" on a unit online; it will expire within 24 hours. You MUST call or come into our office to rent the unit.
Do you offer any specials or discounts?
We support, honor and salute those previously or currently in the military. We offer a 10% discount on your rental rate for the entirety of your rental. We run specials from time to time so be sure to give us a call or check back here for unit pricing. I.D. verification required.
How are leases terminated?
We require a ten day (10-day) notice prior to your desired move-out date so we can notify "wait-listed" customers and help with scheduling.
Do you require a security deposit for renting a unit?
No, we do not require a security deposit, but there is a one time administrative fee for account setup at all our locations. The mandatory set-up/admin fee is charged on each new unit rented.
If all the terms and conditions of the rental agreement have been met, proper notice to terminate lease has been given, and the unit is completely empty with no damage to unit or property, then no further fees after vacating the unit will be charged to the account.
What if I need extra time after Access Hours?
Michigan City customers will be charged a minimum $50 for the first hour past closing time, payable up-front. Additional hours will be charged at the $50/hour rate with a limit of 2 hours. Valparaiso has no extra hours, and the gate CLOSES promptly at 9pm.
