Storage Tips
- Determine what will be stored and the possible size of the unit needed.
- Use pallets, rugs or similar protection to keep items off of the floor in your unit.
- Pack loose items in boxes or plastic storage containers. They stack much easier!
- Clean & fold clothing or fabrics prior to packing in boxes. Hang drapes & clothing in a wardrobe box.
- Glassware should be in protective wrapping to prevent damage in transit - always label them "Fragile".
- Wrap your mattresses in plastic before storing.
- Label all boxes on all sides for easy identification later.
- Couches may be stored on end to save space, provided "arms" are not delicate.
- Store valuables and lesser needed items in back of the unit, keeping items more often needed accessible.
- Leave a path in the unit to allow for easy movement; you may store items longer than originally intended.
- Place heavier, bulky items on the bottom of the stack.
- Empty appliances of all liquids to prevent freezing.
- Empty mowers, trimmers and other gas powered items of any gas or oil.
- Never store perishables, explosives or flammables (gas) in the unit.
- Blankets and pillows can be used to cover items in transit.
- Call us if you see any suspicious activity on the storage grounds.
- Please Note: We do not have insurance that covers any of the items you store in your unit. We recommend that you contact your insurance agent to purchase renters insurance or to add a "storage rider" to your existing homeowners policy. Without insurance, you are renting at your own risk!
